Childhood was a long time ago.<\/p>\n
There’s a difference between memory<\/p>\n
and what we know.<\/p>\n
There are places, sure, I remember well;<\/p>\n
The sailing club with all it’s perks,<\/p>\n
The mansion of my bestest friend<\/p>\n
But few places held my attention.<\/p>\n
I guess, it would have to be, for me,<\/p>\n
The sea.<\/p>\n
A place of fun and happiness<\/p>\n
An escape with an endless horizon<\/p>\n
Of possibility.<\/p>\n
A source of interesting food and smells.<\/p>\n
The ever soothing ebb and flow of life<\/p>\n
At the edge of land,<\/p>\n
Where anything could come<\/p>\n
And anything could go.<\/p>\n
I have lived, land-locked, for many years now.<\/p>\n
Everyday I miss the sea,<\/p>\n
It’s not a memory,<\/p>\n
