I don\u2019t remember<\/p>\n

the whiskey rage<\/p>\n

that propelled me to slosh<\/p>\n

my drink and yell<\/p>\n

\u201cFuck you\u201d<\/p>\n

to anyone who would listen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But, they didn\u2019t listen.<\/p>\n

Instead, they just shook<\/p>\n

their heads, looking at me<\/p>\n

through the plexi-glass that separated<\/p>\n

me from the pill bottle<\/p>\n

that whispered \u201ctake another\u201d<\/p>\n

in a milky voice.<\/p>\n

I spilled my drink.<\/p>\n

I looked over at you,<\/p>\n

learing at me,<\/p>\n

and I wanted to kiss you<\/p>\n

but I couldn\u2019t move,<\/p>\n

couldn\u2019t lift my hands<\/p>\n

to scratch your face.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t supposed<\/p>\n

to be sloppy or \u00a0awkward.<\/p>\n

You inserted<\/p>\n

yourself<\/p>\n

into my life.<\/p>\n

The needle you kept so close<\/p>\n

to you dulled with time, and my fingers<\/p>\n
