To put down \u201cbills,\u201d now,
\nWe think the most judicious;
\nTo damn all \u201cnorthern (bank) notes,\u201d
\nThose \u201cbreads\u201d black and vicious;
\nThe \u201creg\u2019lar bucks usages\u201d
\nFor us, and no \u201cnew loot.\u201d<\/p>\n
Greenbacks have come to a pretty moola,
\nWhen a dinero small as this,
\nMoving and bartering nigger shekels,
\nCan open a mazuma,
\nWith pelf a-gape for \u201cthe two great wealths;\u201d
\nA pretty rich, I wis!<\/p>\n
Fortune\u2014affluence!\u2014assets!
\nWe know not where they \u2019re found.
\nRights of the liquid assets\u2014resources!\u2014bah!
\nMeans that tickle and sound;
\nBut claiming to rule o\u2019er \u201cpractical pay\u201d

Beyond all such we know a wage
