And yet, you dare take a simple love,
\nCompare it to an ill-fated time,
\nWithdraw from this curious treasure-trove,
\nWould treat you-and-me like a mere past-time?<\/p>\n
Words fail.
\nEmotions fail.
\nLove fails.
\nTime fails.<\/p>\n
There is the World,
\nAnd then, there is the world:<\/p>\n
Control versus freedom
\nLove… and some unreasoned rhyme.<\/p>\n
The sense that makes sense does not make sense to you,
\nThough I follow your rationale, the logic’s askew —<\/p>\n
And I’ll suffer while you do what you do,
\nAnd I’ll love even while your love you will eschew,
\nAnd I’ll love, remain in love when you bid ‘adieu’…
\nAnd I’ll help you to find yourself a wife, anew….<\/p>\n
While I hold the days close
\nWhen you held me so close<\/p>\n
When words won
\nAnd hearts won
\nAnd love won
\nAnd time won<\/p>\n
And I won time with one
