\nwill go farther than you thought.

Spider babies mostly, but adults,
\ntoo, will climb high to a very windy ledge,
\nstand tall on their pointy little legs,
\nput their \u201cabdomens\u201d (so to speak) in the air,
\nand release a thin strand of webbing \u2014
\na bungee cord of sorts \u2014 and
\nviola, they are airborne, sometimes
\nsoaring hundreds of miles.

\nshorebird called the red knot
\nflies more than 18,600 miles round trip
\nevery year. From southernmost South American
\nafter gorging themselves ploppy, they fly
\nall the way up to the Artic Circle
\nto make babies, and then fly back again.
