A short, walking, double shot of espresso<\/p>\n
Feet to the pavement, in constant motion<\/p>\n
Walk, walk, walk, walk<\/p>\n
Down new and familiar streets<\/p>\n
Mapping and remapping this city in my head<\/p>\n
Cartography for my solitude<\/p>\n
This is my quiet<\/p>\n
Because stopping, taking a breather<\/p>\n
Is cowardice, defeat, and<\/p>\n
Would allow my brain to pause just long enough<\/p>\n
To let the spastic ruminations, what ifs<\/p>\n
Worst-case scenarios, and internal disaster planning<\/p>\n
Stake their place.<\/p>\n
Too many thoughts, too many worries<\/p>\n
Not enough space to put them all<\/p>\n
No way to keep them down<\/p>\n
Hold them back<\/p>\n
Block their escape<\/p>\n
If I stop moving<\/p>\n
Walking is my rock, thoughts are my paper<\/p>\n
And yet<\/p>\n
