{"id":37469,"date":"2017-08-05T18:54:01","date_gmt":"2017-08-05T22:54:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=37469"},"modified":"2017-08-05T18:54:01","modified_gmt":"2017-08-05T22:54:01","slug":"prompt-number-10","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/prompt-number-10\/","title":{"rendered":"Prompt number 10"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Write a poem about color<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We eat with our eyes<\/p>\n<p>I think as I prepare our simple<br \/>\nSaturday supper.<\/p>\n<p>Boneless loin pork chops, browned<\/p>\n<p>in olive oil with garlic and sliced<\/p>\n<p>green peppers that slip from<\/p>\n<p>bright to muted as heat softens them.<\/p>\n<p>When the pork is done, (no more pink),<\/p>\n<p>I plate it with peppers casualy draped on top<\/p>\n<p>and a side of bright yellow polenta<\/p>\n<p>flecked with green and orange from<\/p>\n<p>shredded spinach and carrot bits.<\/p>\n<p>Taking a look, I am satisfied<\/p>\n<p>a work of art on a square white<\/p>\n<p>china &#8220;canvas.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Soon each canvas will be scraped clean<\/p>\n<p>awaiting tomorrow&#8217;s work of<\/p>\n<p>culinary artistry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Write a poem about color &nbsp; We eat with our eyes I think as I prepare our simple Saturday supper.
