Young, I lived the harmony of innocence,<\/p>\n
heard stunning things, beheld new wonders,<\/p>\n
built fleeting empires in the clouds,<\/p>\n
felt the freedom of sailing ships on the wind.<\/p>\n

Immersed in the serenity of a pond at sunrise<\/p>\n
I felt strength in the pinks, oranges, reds . . .<\/p>\n
Awed as they awoke the world to the glorious<\/p>\n
splendors of nature\u2019s gifts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The taste and smell of freshly baked bread<\/p>\n
Slathered with churned butter, cool from the spring house<\/p>\n
And homemade may haw jelly, from wild fruit<\/p>\n
Make my taste buds yearn for its return.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I remember holding acorns, listening<\/p>\n
As they told glorious tales of the ages.<\/p>\n
And I remember hearing raindrops sing.<\/p>\n
Oh! What wondrous sights they have seen.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Mature, I reflect on those wonders,<\/p>\n
with love and joy in my heart.<\/p>\n
At peace with understanding of my life,<\/p>\n
