Hell- they knew how to torture!<\/p>\n
Not dragging one down to the fiery pit,<\/p>\n
But watching- observing,<\/p>\n
Unable to speak, to shout- to warn.<\/p>\n
Unable to guide her steps back to safety.<\/p>\n
I screamed at her, but no sound was heard;<\/p>\n
I ran to her but I did not move.<\/p>\n
These nightmares, when, whilst alive we dream<\/p>\n
Of straining for sound, striving for movement,<\/p>\n
They are surely remembrances of this place from before we were born.<\/p>\n
There is nothing to make one value their power more<\/p>\n
Than to take it away.<\/p>\n
Watching my beloved walk toward her certain death,<\/p>\n
