She invited them to dine.<br \/>\n\u201cThe peculating of children,\u201d she said,<br \/>\n\u201ca shameful sin indeed.\u201d Hansel\u2019s father:<br \/>\n\u201cWho said my children were stolen?\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cMy mistake. I simply assumed.<br \/>\nThree evenings gone and all.\u201d<br \/>\nWhen they finished, the farmers<br \/>\nthanked the witch for the victuals<br \/>\nspread out beneath the trees to<br \/>\nwiden the net in their search.<br \/>\nTo no avail.<br \/>\nHer house empty again, the witch<br \/>\npoured the leftovers into jars.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hansel and Great stayed out all night.
