lost things<\/p>\n
i have lost a ton of things in my lifetime-
\na gold ring with a ruby stone
\na pair of silver diamond earrings i treated myself to
\na cashmere sweater with small covered buttons
\na bible with my initials embossed on the front cover-
\nall mysteriously disappeared;
\nleft behind in some place probably not secret at all-
\ninappropriately mishandled by some strange hands
\nbut the memory of some things have lasted longer
\nthan the actual thing itself probably would have;
\nthe memory helps me hold on tighter-
\nappreciate more.
\nI have lost a ton of things in my lifetime
\nbut some memories of those things
