Flight of Fancy

Tinker Belle sprinkled us with just a little too much pixie dust,
\nand Peter Pan led us out the window, zooming past Neverland into space.
\nWe saw the most wonderful things.
\nAfter we left the highest flying birds below,
\nwe zoomed past a few airplanes
\nthen satellites and on to the moon!<\/p>\n
The moon was very much as one would imagine it,
\nall crunky with holes and dust,
\nnot at all the kind of place to set up a cricket pitch,
\nso we moved on.<\/p>\n
We were lucky to come upon Mars in its orbit
\nit isn\u2019t always so easy to find.
\nIt looked rather rusty and not at all civilized.
\nIt\u2019s moons were little jewels, and sister fawned over them.
\nPhobos \u2013 what\u2019s the name of the one closer to Mars?
\nBottomos was the reply. Served her right for asking.<\/p>\n
The asteroids were fun.
\nThey come in all sizes, and, since they are in space
\nthey are quite weightless,
\nso it was possible to pitch several of quite good size,
\nalthough it took some effort to overcome inertia,
\nand we scooted in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n
We passed Saturn\u2019s showy display of rings at a distance,
\nand as we neared Jupiter\u2019s moons
\nsister insisted that the baby was tired and needed to nap,
\nand the depths of dark cold space were hardly ideal,
\nso we headed back, making quite good time.<\/p>\n
This time we made it to Neverland and had a massive lot
\nof jolly adventures that rivaled our trip through space
\nand were not nearly so cold and quiet.<\/p>\n
If you get a chance to visit the planets of the solar system,
\nI suggest you eschew the company of girls and babies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
