Absentee ballots would then turn the states purple, making the electoral college voting more in line with the popular vote.<br \/>\nFor some reason this seemed more sensible than a constitutional amendment.<\/p>\n<p>Purple States<br \/>\nby Paul Sanford<\/p>\n<p>Spit blood is red,<br \/>\nin your body it\u2019s purple.<br \/>\nElections draws flies<br \/>\nlike sweet maple surple.<\/p>\n<p>Wall now, it turned out that nobody could change that durn old electoral college,<br \/>\nso to  make the votin\u2019 for president match the electoral and popular vote,<br \/>\nthey hadda change them red and blue states into purple states.<\/p>\n<p>The first big push was gettin\u2019 folks from California to register in Montana.<br \/>\nThere\u2019s more folks in Berkeley than in any two big cities in Montana put together,<br \/>\nso they made a swap.<br \/>\nFolks in Berkeley moved they principal residence to Helena as lodgers with folks,<br \/>\nand an equalt number, abaouit a quarter million, moved on paper to the Berkeley California area.<\/p>\n<p>Not only was the vote for President closer in Montana, but so was the single seat for the House of  Representatives.<br \/>\nJust as importnt, Berkeley finally got some folks with solid business sense and financial responsibility on its city council and school boards, so both states benefited.<\/p>\n<p>Course it was gonna take a lot more votes to turn old Blue Caliofornia  red, and that\u2019s when  Oakland California be <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>experiencing technical difficulties.
