Our crazy ‘third-on-the-right-eighth-on-the-left’ road trips<\/p>\n
Our concerts in the park bandstand,<\/p>\n
The sense we had the world in our hands,<\/p>\n
About to be conquered by our own unique brands<\/p>\n
Of madness,<\/p>\n
But I’m happy we had this –<\/p>\n
\\the sky high jinks,<\/p>\n
The far too many drinks,<\/p>\n
You returning my coat covered in piss….<\/p>\n
Even things like that I miss<\/p>\n
Because in the moments I’ve<\/p>\n
Never been more alive –<\/p>\n
Than when every near-miss left me revived,<\/p>\n
The kangaroo court<\/p>\n
Where, with a great deal of thought,<\/p>\n
We’d spent whole evenings deciding what ought<\/p>\n
To be\u00a0the most\u00a0suitable punishment,<\/p>\n
For every recent misdemeanour,<\/p>\n
As the evening wore on, growing meaner and meaner.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
We, my friend, were invincible<\/p>\n
And we paid no mind to anyone inconvincible –<\/p>\n
