Through the reddest eyes I have known in a year<\/p>\n
I see black,<\/p>\n
dead of night,<\/p>\n
2 AM.<\/p>\n
Even the moon has grown tired.<\/p>\n
There is no beauty<\/p>\n
No great understanding<\/p>\n
Not even a palm tree visible<\/p>\n
Just black<\/p>\n
And so we turn lights out<\/p>\n
Another marathon done.<\/p>\n
We steal away from our screens<\/p>\n
Put away our dishes and spoils of war<\/p>\n
We embrace the black<\/p>\n
The dead of night<\/p>\n
The end of light<\/p>\n
