Three decades it has been.<\/p>\n
Has it really?<\/p>\n
How time flies.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Long walks on mossy ground.<\/p>\n
Short breaths in the crisp air.<\/p>\n
Careful treks down the hill on moonless nights.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Fitfully warming hands by dying embers.<\/p>\n
Shivering under musky covers,<\/p>\n
And scant heat from steel cold heaters.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The wonders of living in an old house,<\/p>\n
With haphazard corridors, tiny attics, dank cellars,<\/p>\n
But disappointingly, no ghosts.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The joys of drinking hot weak tea,<\/p>\n
Gobbling up fries drowned in vinegar, guffawing at spotted dicks,<\/p>\n
And going on pub crawls with mates.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
These memories will have to sustain me,<\/p>\n
Until I return someday,<\/p>\n
To this land of a misspent youth.<\/p>\n
