As the birds wake up outside,<\/p>\n
And the darkness begins to hide,<\/p>\n
I to myself begin to chide.<\/p>\n
“Why would you do this?<\/p>\n
At least you have not died.”<\/p>\n
Despite a setback here and there,<\/p>\n
Despite prompts that felt unfair,<\/p>\n
I made it through, I proved I care.<\/p>\n
I did not fall into despair.<\/p>\n
With faith from friends<\/p>\n
the effort finally ends<\/p>\n
And my next action truly depends<\/p>\n
On solely me and the promises I keep.<\/p>\n
Dawn awakens while I sleep<\/p>\n
Is it okay for me to weep?<\/p>\n
Until next year, new friends and old<\/p>\n
