The 'ugly, lovely town', is Swansea, now a city, as described in that quote by poet Dylan Thomas.<\/p>\n<h1>The Long View<\/h1>\n<p>You can almost see the earth<br \/>\ncurve <br \/>\nfrom this D-block<br \/>\nwindow on the twelth floor.<\/p>\n<p>You can watch<br \/>\nthe buses pull up<br \/>\nand pull out<br \/>\ndestined down toward <br \/>\nthe ugly, lovely town<\/p>\n<p>You can join the gathering crowd<br \/>\npeering down into a bedroom window<br \/>\nwatch an in flagrante couple<br \/> <br \/>\npart,<br \/>\nthe lady cleaning up<br \/>\ndiscarding the tissue <br \/>\nfrom their open window.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hmmmmm, I wrote about the view from my window in hour six, so I&#8217;m going to remember the view from my tower block office, at the top of a very steep hill.
