{"id":43660,"date":"2017-08-07T15:54:12","date_gmt":"2017-08-07T19:54:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=43660"},"modified":"2017-08-07T15:54:12","modified_gmt":"2017-08-07T19:54:12","slug":"walk-into-eternity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2017\/08\/walk-into-eternity\/","title":{"rendered":"Walk into Eternity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When my final day comes,<\/p>\n<p>my long walk upon this Earth ends,<\/p>\n<p>I will not dread.<\/p>\n<p>Life is a dream,<\/p>\n<p>a dream from which all must wake.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Whatever reward lay on the other side,<\/p>\n<p>whatever judgement awaits me,<\/p>\n<p>I will face it tall and proud.<\/p>\n<p>Maimed in life I have been.<\/p>\n<p>Maimed of body,<\/p>\n<p>not mind or soul.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If Odin awaits,<\/p>\n<p>or cursed Hela in her halls of the damned,<\/p>\n<p>or a vast emptiness left in the throws of Ragnar\u00f6k,<\/p>\n<p>I go forth bodly.<\/p>\n<p>My race finished.<\/p>\n<p>My battle done.<\/p>\n<p>Lost or won,<\/p>\n<p>I gave my best.<\/p>\n<p>Cursing the night with my final breath.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Bring me eternity.<\/p>\n<p>My soul is prepared.<\/p>\n<p>Up sails!<\/p>\n<p>Our oars!<\/p>\n<p>The next adventure is come!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When my final day comes, my long walk upon this Earth ends, I will not dread.
