Second Hour<\/p>\n

\u00a0Musiq<\/h2>\n

<\/u>Music is my sanctuary,
\nI make homage to this throne,
\nfor healing my mind and my soul
\nwhen I’m troubled or alone.
\nManifold melodies; ethereal\u00a0 tones.<\/p>\n

Lost in genres of classic, jazz, gospel
\nR&B then blues,
\nracing tempos and soft nuances
\nsymphonies and fugues,
\nand no one around to upset the ambience,
\nor disturb the mood.<\/p>\n

Hours upon hours changing
\nplaylists and styles,
\nI get wrapped up in memories
\nand get lost for a while.<\/p>\n

Reflections of people and places
\nmarking major milestones…
\nRights of passages
\nfelt in the depth of my heart,
\nto the bone, to the bone!<\/p>\n

Through blues and the gospel
\nthe sound of suffering and victory
\nswells up in my soul,
\nfrom riveting shouts of glory,
\nto mournful cries,
\nbeing left out in the cold.<\/p>\n

Music is my mainstay,
\nlike eating struggle food
\nWhen you’re broke.
\nOh!\u00a0 The smells, the sensations
\nand the emotions it invokes!<\/p>\n

R&B strikes memories of
\nDoo-wop groups competing
\nunder the streetlights.
\nSo hip… so cool-breeze;
\nsuch a teenager’s delight!<\/p>\n

What soul-stirring joy I feel,
\nWhat torrent of tears
\npours from my spirit,
\nfrom past misery and fears.
\nSoul music tells sad stories
\nwhile their images appear.<\/p>\n

That song, this album,
\nthose jazz grooves I’ve played,
\nhelped write my Life-song,
\nand the history I’ve made.<\/p>\n
