{"id":47355,"date":"2019-06-22T10:38:25","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T14:38:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=47355"},"modified":"2019-06-25T08:26:25","modified_gmt":"2019-06-25T12:26:25","slug":"prestidigitation-age","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/prestidigitation-age\/","title":{"rendered":"Prestidigitation age"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the old<br \/>\nRocky &amp; Bullwinkle cartoons<br \/>\nBullwinkle the Moose<br \/>\nportraying a magician<br \/>\ncontinually tries to impress<br \/>\nRocky the Squirrel<br \/>\nby pulling a rabbit out of a hat<\/p>\n<p>But the rabbit is never a rabbit<\/p>\n<p>Ever proclaiming \u201cWrong hat!\u201d<br \/>\nat the results<br \/>\nBullwinkle reaches into his<br \/>\ntable-bound, inverted top hat<br \/>\npulling out<br \/>\nsnarling lion<br \/>\ngrowling bear<br \/>\nsnapping alligator or<br \/>\nroaring tiger<br \/>\nbefore calmly stuffing not-rabbit<br \/>\nback down into the hat<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDuhhh\u2026wrong hat!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>is my tranquil rallying cry<br \/>\nin response to situations profound<br \/>\nand absurd<br \/>\nwhen my self-professed, usually<br \/>\naccurate charms fail me<\/p>\n<p>Adopting the eminently cool<br \/>\never-confident, I-got-this! persona<br \/>\nof a cartoon moose has always<br \/>\nserved me well<\/p>\n<p>though I am at a stage now in life<br \/>\nwhere fewer people know who<br \/>\nRocky and Bullwinkle are<br \/>\nbut fewer still question why it is<br \/>\nI always bring<br \/>\nbut never wear<br \/>\na weathered top hat.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u2013 Mark L.
