We meet in many places<\/span><\/p>\n

the musty woods beneath swaying mossy boughs<\/span><\/p>\n

a paint-splattered studio apartment downtown<\/span><\/p>\n

your neighbor\u2019s house, perhaps<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Chattering and excited like children <\/span><\/p>\n

we greet each other<\/span><\/p>\n

hugs with running starts<\/span><\/p>\n

all beaming eyes and glinting, peevish smiles<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

There is a silence <\/span><\/p>\n

then <\/span><\/p>\n

we begin<\/span><\/p>\n

to cast the circle <\/span><\/p>\n

to draw a cloak <\/span><\/p>\n

a space between the worlds<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We honor what binds us to all things <\/span><\/p>\n

and conspire with the air that swells to lift up<\/span><\/p>\n

a song that is strange and true<\/span><\/p>\n

to ignite the fire dancing in the sky<\/span><\/p>\n

that warms the ocean of the waking dream<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We retrieve the gifts that glitter on the twilight shore<\/span><\/p>\n

And in so doing turn the wheel of time<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
