Last year, we noticed two children at the airport, waiting for their luggage,<\/p>\n
As their parents unpeeled candy to sweeten them \u2013 two pink well-fed roses!<\/p>\n

Heaven uncoiled its garden hose this morning, an endless, thick, grey snake<\/p>\n
Of dirty-white water, which flooded the backyard, giving us a row of wet roses.<\/p>\n

Some time ago, I visited a friend, who found out her husband had another,<\/p>\n
A much younger woman looking to harvest from another\u2019s bed of roses.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Returning to what I\u2019d like to think of \u2013 other colours, more detail and scent,<\/p>\n
Wild bouquets of cornflowers and carnations, anything instead of roses.<\/p>\n
