<\/p>\n
Hour Three<\/p>\n
Pond<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Standing by my pond\u2026<\/p>\n
Bubbles rise next to boulders covered in moss<\/p>\n
with weeds popping out.<\/p>\n
Hummingbird buzzes by,<\/p>\n
Robin flutters remind me to get out of my head<\/p>\n
in a flapping wings kind of way.<\/p>\n
Gargantuan deep green leaves from a plant given to me in a small pot<\/p>\n
now surround and enclose the four foot metal heron that<\/p>\n
dominates in winter.<\/p>\n
Giant willow looks down on it all,<\/p>\n
first tree that I planted remembers everything<\/p>\n
much of which I\u2019ve forgotten<\/p>\n
while the totem stares out at the pond<\/p>\n
ever vigilant.<\/p>\n
The progression of flowers races by like life<\/p>\n
some are closing that I\u2019ve hardly noticed<\/p>\n
while new ones unfold from buds.<\/p>\n
Moisture everywhere from sprinklers this morning.<\/p>\n
Weeds that at times bother me so much<\/p>\n
look like part of the plan.<\/p>\n
One small stalk of grass rises above the others as if to say<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you notice me?\u201d<\/p>\n
Thistles everywhere that my Idaho friend scoffed at<\/p>\n
but I see as flowers.<\/p>\n
May I look at life through different eyes.<\/p>\n
