{"id":48964,"date":"2019-06-22T12:59:23","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T16:59:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=48964"},"modified":"2019-06-22T17:33:42","modified_gmt":"2019-06-22T21:33:42","slug":"the-sentinels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/the-sentinels\/","title":{"rendered":"The Sentinels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hour Four<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Sentinels<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Waterfall a sentinel<\/p>\n<p>could tell us the unthinkable<\/p>\n<p>racing on a hidden path<\/p>\n<p>out of pristine night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Stars look down upon it all<\/p>\n<p>know a lot that came before.<\/p>\n<p>Quiet eyes are full of light<\/p>\n<p>we\u2019re just a speck to them.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mountains grew out of the earth<\/p>\n<p>like children of a rocky birth.<\/p>\n<p>Booming barging bigness<\/p>\n<p>reminds me of our weakness.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The moon shines light, reflects the sun<\/p>\n<p>enlightens paths we walk upon<\/p>\n<p>doesn\u2019t want anything<\/p>\n<p>as it brightens up our night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I look at life like it\u2019s a maze<\/p>\n<p>try to see beyond the haze<\/p>\n<p>at mountains, moon and also stars<\/p>\n<p>but also highways choked with cars.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>River once was waterfall<\/p>\n<p>accepts its path as it flows on<\/p>\n<p>towards an ocean destiny<\/p>\n<p>knowing time will set it free.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I walk along the rivers edge<\/p>\n<p>can\u2019t see its start or its end<\/p>\n<p>step lightly as I try to hear<\/p>\n<p>its message bubbling loud and clear.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hour Four &nbsp; The Sentinels &nbsp; Waterfall a sentinel could tell us the unthinkable racing on a hidden path out of pristine night. &nbsp; Stars look down upon it all know a lot that came before.
