I walk through the fields outside my house,<\/p>\n
My headphones in,<\/p>\n
Listening to some old Queen track,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I stop at the stream,<\/p>\n
Watching the water flow in currents,<\/p>\n
Splashing over the rocks, in a race to get to the finish line,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I take my headphones off,<\/p>\n
Takig in the sounds of the stream, flowing by,<\/p>\n
I hear it splash, and squelch and protest it’s hard jurney,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Slowly, I slip off my runners and ankle socks,<\/p>\n
And set them on the marshy banks of the stream,<\/p>\n
In my bare feet, I hop into the shallow stream,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I gasp at first, at how cold it is,<\/p>\n
It feels like standing on a block of ice,<\/p>\n
My heels bounce on the smooth, wet pebbles beneath me,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The water’s so shallow,<\/p>\n
That it barely splashes against my ankles,<\/p>\n
And I can hear a crow cawing, not far away,<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
It warms up a little,<\/p>\n
And I smile too myself,<\/p>\n
