{"id":50352,"date":"2019-06-22T15:17:36","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T19:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=50352"},"modified":"2019-06-22T15:17:36","modified_gmt":"2019-06-22T19:17:36","slug":"my-poetry-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/my-poetry-2\/","title":{"rendered":"My Poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My Poetry<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My poetry is a fastball, sailing<\/p>\n<p>through the wind, 93 miles per hour, slicing<\/p>\n<p>the air like a child\u2019s paper plane.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It flies until it hits the batter\u2019s mouth,<\/p>\n<p>causing blood to seep out of teeth\u2019s new holes,<\/p>\n<p>gushing to the ground, the way I bleed poetry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>My poetry is the ambulance rushing<\/p>\n<p>through the crowds, racing to save the one.<\/p>\n<p>As the bandage is placed, and all is healed,<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>he forgets the scab that used to be, fears<\/p>\n<p>the one that is to come.
