{"id":50426,"date":"2019-06-22T15:20:21","date_gmt":"2019-06-22T19:20:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=50426"},"modified":"2019-06-23T02:36:00","modified_gmt":"2019-06-23T06:36:00","slug":"stale","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/stale\/","title":{"rendered":"Stale"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Stranded, sun filtering in<br \/>\nto a car that won\u2019t start,<br \/>\nwe aren\u2019t upset<br \/>\ninstead we leave it behind,<br \/>\nbegin to walk<br \/>\nand build our own adventure.<\/p>\n<p>We meander to an empty park,<br \/>\nand wait as a mellow breeze<br \/>\nrests in our hair and on our faces,<br \/>\nthe cool air is calming.<\/p>\n<p>We must begin to roam again,<br \/>\nwords flowing freely between us,<br \/>\nnew opportunities around every corner, a beaten path beneath the bridge<br \/>\nguides us to graffiti, bold and unseen.<\/p>\n<p>We take pictures, stop and stare<br \/>\nthe warm sun and the new sights<br \/>\nare a breath of fresh air in an otherwise<br \/>\nstale, hectic life. <\/p>\n<p>This moment of freedom, brought on by a<br \/>\nbroken down car,<br \/>\nhas been the happiest moment of my week. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stranded, sun filtering in to a car that won\u2019t start, we aren\u2019t upset instead we leave it behind, begin to walk and build our own adventure.
