Grandma’s Trees<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Two pears for the sisters<\/p>\n

A crab for the boy<\/p>\n

Three purples for the triplets<\/p>\n

And a maple for Leroy<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The pear trees flowered early<\/p>\n

The crab tree not so much<\/p>\n

All purples were together<\/p>\n

But the maple had the touch<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The crab tree was in trouble<\/p>\n

Pears’ blooms were first rate<\/p>\n

The purples lasted longest<\/p>\n

Leroy’s maple looked just great<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

August leaves peaked true green<\/p>\n

All but crab enjoyed the look<\/p>\n

Leroy’s maple hinted orange<\/p>\n

The first season in the book<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Grandma ever hopeful<\/p>\n

She would wait another year<\/p>\n

And give the crab a special brew<\/p>\n

And pray the leaves appear<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Over years the trees grew taller<\/p>\n

When the cousins gathered here<\/p>\n

To sit beneath the crab’s deep shade<\/p>\n

And feel their Grandma near<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
