she hushed herself while our conversation traveled through grassy fields<\/p>\n
she told me to give her a minute so she could take in the smell of the air<\/p>\n
I told her, \u201cfoggy air does smell different\u201d<\/p>\n
she talked about generational curses<\/p>\n
and how damned we are<\/p>\n
\u201cthis world causes a lot of pain to a lot of people\u201d she says<\/p>\n
\u201cI feel my inner life is on a dock waiting to go adrift,<\/p>\n
it\u2019s ready for its turn…\u201d I say…<\/p>\n
