Poem Eleven<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Dear Harvey, Who\u2019s about to be Born<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Make sure you\u2019re born on May 8.<\/p>\n

Do not rush things and come out the day before.<\/p>\n

Repeat: NOT THE DAY BEFORE!!!<\/p>\n

That\u2019s a good little boy\u2026just cozy in and relax.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

May 8 is a great day\u2026three years after the Nazi\u2019s surrendered to end the war.<\/p>\n

The week the state of Israel will be formed – spurred on by an article in The Nation <\/em>on May 8.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You\u2019ve been dodging genetic bullets for a long time.<\/p>\n

Great grandfather murdered in a Pogrom.<\/p>\n

Grandfather escaping the Czar, alone as a teen.<\/p>\n

Parents facing death and certainly no you if hitler had won and taken over America.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So just cozy in and surf that wave that rolls you out on May 8th <\/sup>, child of mother May.<\/p>\n

Because May 7 is a Vietnam Draft Lottery death warrant\u2026as is the tenth and eleventh!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

If you are born any of those days you will definitely get drafted, way off in 1969.<\/p>\n

So just relax and enjoy floating the pond.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Your ancestors have been through enough war.<\/p>\n

You need to grow up in Philly and randomly go to Woodstock.<\/p>\n

Then join a hippie commune to give you the idea of hitchin\u2019 out west.<\/p>\n

So you can leave on that summer vacation and never come back.<\/p>\n

Rather than have to worry about that dirty ol\u2019 Draft.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

So chill out Harvey\u2026it\u2019s more important than you know!<\/p>\n

Just chill\u2026<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
