I am a writer, and my currency is words.<\/p>\n

Some authors carry wallets, dictionaries, thesauruses<\/p>\n

readily at hand.<\/p>\n

I keep my words like loose change,<\/p>\n

jumbled in my pocket.<\/p>\n

My vocabulary pocket, I am loathe to say,<\/p>\n

does not do its job.<\/p>\n

A phrase gets caught on something else,<\/p>\n

stray syllables lost in deep corners.<\/p>\n

My mental fingers are not nimble<\/p>\n

enough to wedge them free.<\/p>\n

Speaking is a nightmare,<\/p>\n

grabbing verbs instead of nouns,<\/p>\n

fumbling with my payment<\/p>\n

to purchase social\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 .<\/p>\n

Oh no.<\/p>\n

It seems my pocket\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 a hole.<\/p>\n

That\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 thing always\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 me down!<\/p>\n
