{"id":53674,"date":"2019-06-22T20:52:19","date_gmt":"2019-06-23T00:52:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=53674"},"modified":"2019-06-22T20:52:19","modified_gmt":"2019-06-23T00:52:19","slug":"2019-12-writers-block","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/2019-12-writers-block\/","title":{"rendered":"2019 #12 Writer\u2019s Block"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>There is a curve<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Through which I know I must pass<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>There is no straight line ahead of me<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And I am lost without an absolute.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I am so inauthentic<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Claiming to embrace chaos and the unknown<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>That\u2019s just one more lie<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>On top of all the others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fingers tap on my keyboard like electric shocks<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Because if I am untrue then my words are untrue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And for that there are consequences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Write what you know<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yet when that is fragile<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Truth atop a razor blade<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Impaled before finally toppling off its edge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Whose life ends up on this page?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Not mine.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>I can erase the past and create the future<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>With these strokes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But the present turns too sharply<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And remains unwritten.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a curve Through which I know I must pass There is no straight line ahead of me And I am lost without an absolute.
