As my toddlers giggled around<\/p>\n<p>me, I pressed harder and harder, almost<\/p>\n<p>tearing through the paper. But when they stared<\/p>\n<p>at my scribbled page, I showed them how<\/p>\n<p>to take a brush and smooth it all away.<\/p>\n<p>Circles and dots, fingerprints that won\u2019t leave<\/p>\n<p>turned to lines and thistles streaking through dark.<\/p>\n<p>As the kids got up and washed their hands, I stayed<\/p>\n<p>and placed my purple fingers underneath<\/p>\n<p>the wood table, knowing they would stay.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Fingerpainting &nbsp; I painted with my fingers, traced them white, orange, blue on a black-as-night construction sheet.
