Driving up, your glow swells & opens,
\nlike the air is a curtain you can part <\/p>\n
to engulf me. There is no better sight
\nthan my own messy table, my laptop<\/p>\n
the intermingling of our everyday
\nclutter. Some days, I come home<\/p>\n
to roasted vegetables & the beginning
\nof a TV series I will accidentally fall<\/p>\n
into, the easy laughter of people
\nwho will listen if I\u2019ve had a bad day<\/p>\n
or a good one. Other days, the kitchen
\nis hollow & I am a burning candle <\/p>\n
in my own smile, standing with my back
\nto the darkness, grateful that someone <\/p>\n
cared enough to leave the light waiting
\nfor my arrival. When I know I\u2019ll be alone, <\/p>\n
I leave the light on for my damn self–
\nproof that I am my own arrival, <\/p>\n
my own happy ending, the only
