{"id":55475,"date":"2019-06-22T22:22:34","date_gmt":"2019-06-23T02:22:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=55475"},"modified":"2019-06-24T17:28:48","modified_gmt":"2019-06-24T21:28:48","slug":"out-of-the-wasteland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/out-of-the-wasteland\/","title":{"rendered":"Out of the Wasteland- for RLH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I stand upon a barren ground.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s time to start anew.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve never walked this path alone.<br \/>\nI&#8217;m not sure what to do. <\/p>\n<p>The past is gone, and it&#8217;s unknown<br \/>\njust what the future holds.<br \/>\nWith courage I must carry on.<br \/>\nI must be strong and bold. <\/p>\n<p>I see scorched earth<br \/>\nat every turn.<br \/>\nAs tears run down my cheeks.<br \/>\nBut I can&#8217;t let myself give up<br \/>\nor give in to feeling week.  <\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m thirsty for a drop of grace<br \/>\nand hungry for some sweet.<br \/>\nBut I steady myself and forge ahead<br \/>\nupon my own two feet. <\/p>\n<p>I know that I can survive this.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve survived so much before.<br \/>\nAnd though this is the worst so far,<br \/>\nthere are better days in store. <\/p>\n<p>I walk through the wasteland of my past<br \/>\nand gaze up at blue sky.<br \/>\nI feel the hope within me grow<br \/>\nand hold my head up high.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I stand upon a barren ground.
