I have to say, “I’m sorry” for the bratty things I did<\/p>\n

When we were so much younger, living under the same lid.<\/p>\n

I hated you for being the one with all the answers,<\/p>\n

I even hated you when you had a date for dances.<\/p>\n

I didn’t want to go to your high school graduation;<\/p>\n

It wasn’t my idea of an event for celebration.<\/p>\n

But as I’ve gotten older, and hopefully matured,<\/p>\n

My love for you has changed from those earlier, sad years.<\/p>\n

Now, I see the value of having siblings, older<\/p>\n

To pave the way ahead, so I could face them bolder.<\/p>\n

You were my example of so many things you did,<\/p>\n

I didn’t think I could compete–you were way too big.<\/p>\n

But as the years have added, I see you in a light<\/p>\n

I never saw before, and I wish that we were tight.<\/p>\n

I wish we lived much closer than a two-hour drive,<\/p>\n

So we could see each other more often, and confide.<\/p>\n

I feel that we have missed an opportunity<\/p>\n

To experience a closeness in others, that I see.<\/p>\n

But hopefully, we can make the best of what is left–<\/p>\n

So when we leave this life, we leave with no regret.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
