Outside my running car <\/span><\/p>\n

freezing<\/span>, from home far<\/span><\/p>\n

left early to beat a storm<\/span><\/p>\n

only now my key is safe and warm<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In 96 it tortured me<\/span><\/p>\n

frantically trying to get in, you see<\/span><\/p>\n

a blizzard brewing high and low<\/span><\/p>\n

a manager helping but no-go<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Angry, finally getting in<\/span><\/p>\n

driving<\/span>\u00a0home, no snow within<\/span><\/p>\n

and now I fear I\u2019ll be trapped again <\/span><\/p>\n

inside a frozen drift – no-win<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Scared now, road barely seen<\/span><\/p>\n

ice caking on my windshield thin<\/span><\/p>\n

on the ground, no trace of green<\/span><\/p>\n

I ponder, amidst the motor\u2019s din<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When finally I make it home<\/span><\/p>\n

another trap assaults my bones<\/span><\/p>\n

within abode I\u2019m caught, dear me<\/span><\/p>\n

without those staples I need to BE<\/span><\/p>\n

and days it stayed that way … three!<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The blizzard of 96 it was<\/span><\/p>\n

but not so free of slush because <\/span><\/p>\n

now snowplows push street-snow in<\/span><\/p>\n

both car and me are stuck again.<\/span><\/p>\n
