\n“Remember when…?” Can’t say I do
\nI remember instead the stories you tell.
\nAnd I’m sure your stories are quite true
\n“Remember when…?” Can’t say I do.
\nI’m full of holes, events slip through
\nBut stories sometimes stick quite well.

II.
\nTales of me in school, I learn and grow
\nBut never quite best in show
\nJust that bit too slow,
\nLike… you know.
\nSheep<\/p>\n

Tales of teen years, not much in there though
\nThat’s when M.E. laid me low
\nJust that bit too slow,
\nLike… you know.
\nSleep<\/p>\n

Tales of my youth, fare to and fro
\nKeen to be doing, but no
\nJust that bit too slow,
\nLike… you know.
\nWeap<\/p>\n

III.
\nThen come the lost years
\nThe tales you can’t tell,
\nFor you were not here –
\nOr I was not there
\nWhich is the same thing
\nFor our purposes.<\/p>\n

Without my Boswell
\nI cannot recall
\nHow I passed that time
\nOnly that time passed
\nAnd now I make an
\nEffort to catch it.<\/p>\n

My memories are yours
\nPlease tell them to me
\nAnd maybe this time
\nI will remember.<\/p>\n
