my career started like that Billy Idol tune about<\/p>\n
dangerous liaisons with<\/p>\n
dangerous broads from parts of town no one wanted to see:<\/p>\n
shakey<\/p>\n
uncompromising<\/p>\n
and a little arrogant.<\/p>\n
fist in the air for strength and power<\/p>\n
for those who could not speak truth to power<\/p>\n
to teach them how to speak truth to power<\/p>\n
so I didn’t have to keep doing it for them…<\/p>\n
“teach a kid to fish,” and all that.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
turns out<\/p>\n
all that rebel yelling<\/p>\n
is helpful…<\/p>\n
even if it irritates the ones around me who do not want to see<\/p>\n
the youth around them…or anything beyond the tips of their noses.<\/p>\n
for them, I have saved my favorite gesture…<\/p>\n
