Bleed from magic inkwells<br \/>\nStare. The window\u2019s pane is a television screen;<br \/>\nwhat you see outside is not actually happening.<\/p>\n<p>The president is trustworthy<br \/>\nThe police are protecting you<br \/>\nThe children are safe.<br \/>\nRemember to giggle a little<br \/>\nif anyone tries to tell you differently.<\/p>\n<p>The information that confirms your own beliefs<br \/>\nis a veil thickened by the media scenes,<br \/>\nbiasedly depicting the facts as conspiracy<br \/>\nblurring the line between truth and honesty,<br \/>\nmagnifying the delusion you choose to fit your understanding.<\/p>\n<p>But If you have found yourself living in a world<br \/>\nyou no longer recognize, trust your eyes<br \/>\nbecause reality has become that alarming.<\/p>\n<p>America, America, it is of thee I sing. Home of the brave, sold out<br \/>\nland of the free. Our country is being stolen by the<br \/>\nfreedom of corporate capital, the freedom to violate the earth<br \/>\nfor quick fortune, future generations forfeiting their inheritance,<br \/>\npermanently desecrated by the oil tycoons greed.<\/p>\n<p>The freedom to exploit another human being<br \/>\nbecause he can&#8217;t read the fine print, or afford a lawyer<br \/>\nto interpret the endless legal jargon, or because he is<br \/>\nso desperate he skips meals to feed his children,<br \/>\nthe freedom to take him for all he\u2019s got because<br \/>\nhe would sell his soul to fill their hungry bellies.<\/p>\n<p>Our country is being sold by those who value<br \/>\nthe dollar more than human life. To sit by is to choose<br \/>\nto do nothing. To look away is want to do nothing.<br \/>\nTo avoid, to underplay, to deny is to choose to do nothing.<br \/>\nTo write an internet rant, a poem, to cast a vote<br \/>\nis a little more than nothing, but to stand up, make a fist,<br \/>\nand say \u201cNo!\u201d Now that&#8217;s something.<\/p>\n<p>Power is only gained, taken, and kept through the threat<br \/>\nand direct use of force. An uncomfortable truth,<br \/>\nthey don\u2019t teach you directly in school, but if you read between the lines,<br \/>\nof the one-sided lies in the World History textbooks,<br \/>\na common theme holds thread through to today,<br \/>\njust as it did at the dawn of civilization:<br \/>\nPower is assured through violence.<\/p>\n<p>The powerful only fear violence, because in a world ruled by money,<br \/>\nthey are the untouchables gods of industry, but everyone can bleed.<br \/>\nAnd it is only when they are personally confronted with death,<br \/>\ndo they see that life has no price. It is only when their hands are holding<br \/>\nthe ebbing spill of their entrails, they finally realize the frail impermanence<br \/>\nof monetary luxury. As we consume, so too are we consumed,<br \/>\nfor there is no liberty for the cogs in the machine.<\/p>\n<p>So when you see nationalism, bigotry, racial pride, police forces being<br \/>\nused to protect the investment interests of the wealthy, stand up!
