{"id":57886,"date":"2019-06-23T08:26:37","date_gmt":"2019-06-23T12:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=57886"},"modified":"2019-06-23T08:26:37","modified_gmt":"2019-06-23T12:26:37","slug":"what-the-world-needs-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/what-the-world-needs-now\/","title":{"rendered":"What the World Needs Now"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What the World Needs Now<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s only one thing lacking,<\/p>\n<p>Anywhere you go.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s only one thing missing,<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t you know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Famine and drought and pestilence,<\/p>\n<p>Crime and drugs and need.<\/p>\n<p>Anywhere we look on Earth,<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s poverty, hunger, and greed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So many, many problems.<\/p>\n<p>Is there anything to do?<\/p>\n<p>I hold that one solution<\/p>\n<p>Would make the world like new.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If we could love each other,<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d come up with a way<\/p>\n<p>To fix the other problems.<\/p>\n<p>It might only take a day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If we had love, respect and love<\/p>\n<p>For people everywhere,<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019d be enough to go around,<\/p>\n<p>For folks would want to share.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>What the world needs now<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Is love, sweet love.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>That\u2019s the only thing<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>There\u2019s just too little of.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What the World Needs Now &nbsp; There\u2019s only one thing lacking, Anywhere you go.
