I’m sorry I made you mad<\/p>\n

when I messed my pants again<\/p>\n

for the third time in one hour<\/p>\n

I just couldn’t mke it<\/p>\n

fast enough<\/p>\n

And I’m sorry that my babbling<\/p>\n

annoys you<\/p>\n

I can’t always find the right words-<\/p>\n

And it takes longer than most to<\/p>\n

find them.<\/p>\n

Please don’t ignore me<\/p>\n

Please don’t be angry that I’m<\/p>\n

so slow<\/p>\n

I can’t move as fast as I used to<\/p>\n

I have nowhere special to be now<\/p>\n

Don’t act as though I’m a burden-<\/p>\n

I don’t mean to be<\/p>\n

I used to be on my own<\/p>\n

Now I need help with everything<\/p>\n

Please understand that I’m<\/p>\n

Trying to retain my dignity<\/p>\n

while giving up the choice<\/p>\n

to live on my own<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I know that you move<\/p>\n

at a faster pace and my<\/p>\n

slowness only angers you<\/p>\n

Please have patience with me<\/p>\n

I’m like a baby once more<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I understand that it was<\/p>\n

easier for me to come here<\/p>\n

than for you to care for me<\/p>\n

You tried- and for that alone<\/p>\n

I love and thank you<\/p>\n

Please understand that I am<\/p>\n

scared and confused-<\/p>\n

angry and maybe<\/p>\n

even a little happy<\/p>\n

Just accept me<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Please hold my hand<\/p>\n

and know that it gives me<\/p>\n

comfort to hold the hand of<\/p>\n

one who loves me<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I have stories to tell<\/p>\n

memories to share<\/p>\n

feelings to feel<\/p>\n

sit and listen-<\/p>\n

Know me.<\/p>\n

Please try to understand<\/p>\n

my anger<\/p>\n

My own body is rejecting me.<\/p>\n
