From the book of truth<\/p>\n
Spoken by you<\/p>\n
Taken to heart by men<\/p>\n

Therefore, in order to keep<\/p>\n
me from becoming conceited,<\/p>\n
I was given a thorn in<\/p>\n
my flesh, a messenger of<\/p>\n
Satan, to torment me<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Three times I pleaded with<\/p>\n
the Lord to take it away from<\/p>\n
me. But he said to me, My grace<\/p>\n
is sufficient for you, for my power<\/p>\n
is made perfect in weakness.<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
How is your power made<\/p>\n
perfect in my weakness Lord<\/p>\n
Do you know what I’ve been<\/p>\n
through in my life thus far<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Do you know the trials and<\/p>\n
struggles that I face everyday<\/p>\n
The hopes and dreams that<\/p>\n
I have seen dashed to peices<\/p>\n
on the ground<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Late night conversation<\/p>\n
with a friend<\/p>\n
a brother in your name<\/p>\n
I was a wreck<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
I told him I was in<\/p>\n
danger of falling<\/p>\n
back to old habits<\/p>\n
old addictions<\/p>\n
old ways of living<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
I don’t want to fall<\/p>\n
I don’t want to go back<\/p>\n
to what I used to be<\/p>\n
How I used to live my life<\/p>\n
Help me please<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
He looked right at me<\/p>\n
Sadly shaking his head<\/p>\n
pointed a finger at me<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
You’ve become conceited<\/p>\n
in your clean living<\/p>\n
Taking the credit for your<\/p>\n
accomplishments<\/p>\n
when you know full well<\/p>\n
It wasn’t your doing<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
It was God’s doing<\/p>\n
He took<\/p>\n
your pain<\/p>\n
bore your shame<\/p>\n
Every insult that you’ve uttered<\/p>\n
You uttered at him<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Everytime you partook in your<\/p>\n
addictions-<\/p>\n
It was a slap in his face<\/p>\n
not yours<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Threw myself onto my face<\/p>\n
Felt like I was pushed<\/p>\n
by some unseen force<\/p>\n
an unseen hand<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Lord Almighty<\/p>\n
I’m sorry<\/p>\n
No more of this<\/p>\n
running from you<\/p>\n
doing things to spite you<\/p>\n
To hurt you<\/p>\n
to shame you<\/p>\n
~<\/p>\n
Take me Lord<\/p>\n
Fit me in your plan<\/p>\n
Bend me to your will<\/p>\n
save me God<\/p>\n
Even though I deserve<\/p>\n
nothing<\/p>\n
I humbly beg this of you.<\/p>\n

I’m not worthy to be saved<\/p>\n
Lord<\/p>\n
Yet you saved me anyway<\/p>\n
You take me back no matter what<\/p>\n
You once said there is NOTHING<\/p>\n
that I will ever do where you won’t<\/p>\n
still love me, where you won’t still<\/p>\n
take me back<\/p>\n

Teach me Lord<\/p>\n
Show me your mercy<\/p>\n
