{"id":60357,"date":"2020-06-24T16:29:20","date_gmt":"2020-06-24T20:29:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=60357"},"modified":"2020-06-24T16:29:20","modified_gmt":"2020-06-24T20:29:20","slug":"little-prayers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/little-prayers\/","title":{"rendered":"Little prayers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Little prayers written away on my little screen<br \/>\nSo much hope and yearning<br \/>\nNot sure they will be heard<br \/>\nMaybe light coincidence improve<br \/>\nA matter of faith<br \/>\nNo intercession,<br \/>\nnor reply.<\/p>\n<p>Themselves a word offering,<br \/>\nraised up to what appears divine.<br \/>\nShe prayed for others,<br \/>\nNot for me,<br \/>\nI am still new at this.<\/p>\n<p>If I adore her,<br \/>\nit lets me feel.<br \/>\nThe temple floods.<br \/>\nShe is tired of being devoted,<br \/>\nand overwhelmed by her devotees.<br \/>\nI came too late<br \/>\nAtheist to herself<br \/>\nAgnostic to me.<\/p>\n<p>I priest offer something<br \/>\non behalf of the world,<br \/>\ncontrite and crying,<br \/>\nforgive us all that is past,<br \/>\nnone know what we do.<\/p>\n<p>A slight passion on me<br \/>\nfor former sinners.<br \/>\nLittle Via Dolorosa<br \/>\nShe sets me on,<br \/>\nshe walks it often.<\/p>\n<p>Grace I cannot deserve.<br \/>\nAs above, so below,<br \/>\nmake that loving contact<br \/>\nbefore it all falls down,<br \/>\nand we return back as before.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Little prayers written away on my little screen So much hope and yearning Not sure they will be heard Maybe light coincidence improve A matter of faith No intercession, nor reply.
