{"id":61551,"date":"2020-06-27T08:47:09","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T12:47:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=61551"},"modified":"2020-06-27T08:47:09","modified_gmt":"2020-06-27T12:47:09","slug":"introduction-61","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/introduction-61\/","title":{"rendered":"Introduction"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>I<\/strong><\/em>n this time of COVID, please warmly embrace my brief introduction.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>N<\/strong><\/em>ot only am I grateful and honored that is the fourth Poetry Marathon of which I have been an active participant, I am a daughter, wife, mother and grandmother.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>T<\/strong><\/em>wo years ago, I retired from my career in education and am currently working as a cashier in a local grocery store.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>R<\/strong><\/em>elying on the hourly prompts enable me to stretch as a poet. I look forward to learning and accepting the challenge given.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>O<\/strong><\/em>rdinarily, I have a tendency to isolate when writing, but not during the Marathon.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>D<\/strong><\/em>uring the Marathon, the community of poets keep me going through the small hours of the night.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>U<\/strong><\/em>nbelievably talented poets come together, sharing in phenomenal poetry. It&#8217;s amazing and beautiful. There is nothing like this experience. Every year has been different and fantastic.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>C<\/strong><\/em>ertainly, the 2020 Poetry Marathon is already embedded with the uniqueness that can only come from this year.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>T<\/strong><\/em>aking in the Marathon through each hour as it comes, keeps me focused on the prompts.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0look forward to reading as many poems as I can and commenting on each that I read.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>O<\/strong><\/em>bviously, you will experience the Marathon for yourself, but you will not go it alone.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>N<\/strong><\/em>o one can take this away from you.
