POEM # 368<\/p>\n
NO MORE SHOOTERS<\/p>\n
Stopped in the bar just to think,<\/p>\n
Everyone there buys me a drink.<\/p>\n
How many shooters have I had?<\/p>\n
Usually quiet now happy and glad,<\/p>\n
Should I have ordered my lunch?<\/p>\n
As shooters continue in a bunch.<\/p>\n
The day has become just a blur,<\/p>\n
As words I speak begin to slur.<\/p>\n
The more I drink, I try to act cool,<\/p>\n
Challenging all to a game of drool.<\/p>\n
Stick in hand my shot rips the felt,<\/p>\n
Laughter the sound, I begin to melt.<\/p>\n
Another round of shooters too all,<\/p>\n
Eyes so bleary, I wait for last call.<\/p>\n
When did I walk through the door?<\/p>\n
One more shooter will be the floor.<\/p>\n
Bartender help me, please call a cab,<\/p>\n
Everyone a last shooter on my tab.<\/p>\n
Home at last, to the whirl of the bed,<\/p>\n
No more shooters, today I will be wed.<\/p>\n
