She dominates<br \/>\nstage and scene,\ther voice a warrior<br \/>\nin layers of fight<\/p>\n<p>wants to be healed<br \/>\n\tas if I can pull her from<br \/>\n\tthe ashes of centuries<br \/>\n\t\tpast,<br \/>\n\tand lovers never<br \/>\n\t\tparted.<\/p>\n<p>These are the days<\/p>\n<p>she climbs the speaker,      leaps<br \/>\ntoward me. \tI might catch her<br \/>\nso she won\u2019t need me<br \/>\nless.<\/p>\n<p>Her purr an engine<br \/>\nrumbling smooth<br \/>\n\tunder her tongue<br \/>\nover the smoky sway<br \/>\n\tof our collective<br \/>\n\t\tbodies swarming,<br \/>\n\t\twarming together like this.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder if she sees me here<br \/>\nwonder if the cry<br \/>\nin her lyric sheds from a single dark wish<br \/>\n\tto be heard.<br \/>\nI\u2019m at the bar,<br \/>\n\tshoe soles sticking to the floor<br \/>\n\tit\u2019s cement, lava,<br \/>\n\tfire licking my inhibition<\/p>\n<p>alive.
