Once upon a time<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
I had a fairy godmother.<\/p>\n
She rescued me, but I was never<\/p>\n
a princess. From my anger she wove<\/p>\n
resolve. Despair became strength.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Her wings were a jet plane\u2019s:<\/p>\n
She rode with me to loneliness<\/p>\n
then sent me home to heal.<\/p>\n
Once home, I waited for her return.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Round of visage, clear of gaze,<\/p>\n
she forged for me a lens<\/p>\n
through which unhappiness<\/p>\n
became only a tree branch in the road.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Once upon a time I knew a fairy<\/p>\n
who led me through the desert<\/p>\n
home. Sometimes I remember<\/p>\n
but memory is like fairies ~ ephemeral<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
And wings are only dreams like mist<\/p>\n
that fade in morning light. But I am home<\/p>\n
and the music of the north country<\/p>\n
sometimes fills the air. Like fairy wings.<\/p>\n
