{"id":62195,"date":"2020-06-27T09:39:16","date_gmt":"2020-06-27T13:39:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/?p=62195"},"modified":"2020-06-29T12:24:57","modified_gmt":"2020-06-29T16:24:57","slug":"bonsai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepoetrymarathon.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/bonsai\/","title":{"rendered":"Bonsai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bonsai<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Old friends met.<\/p>\n<p>An outing.<\/p>\n<p>Lunch and bonsai.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Prepared azaleas for<\/p>\n<p>a new way of life.<\/p>\n<p>Scissors slashed,<\/p>\n<p>raked off soil,<\/p>\n<p>exposed roots<\/p>\n<p>to fit new, smaller pots.<\/p>\n<p>Need to get rooted<\/p>\n<p>in new soil.<\/p>\n<p>Trimmed back<\/p>\n<p>leaves, branches<\/p>\n<p>to the shape, scale of<\/p>\n<p>full-sized bushes.<\/p>\n<p>Need to adapt to<\/p>\n<p>smaller surroundings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We ate and talked,<\/p>\n<p>more awkward now<\/p>\n<p>in company of others.<\/p>\n<p>Took our newly planted bonsai.<\/p>\n<p>Returned home to<\/p>\n<p>adapt to our new,<\/p>\n<p>smaller lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bonsai &nbsp; Old friends met.
